Good Vs Bad

It does seem things this year swing between good or bad, and sometimes between really good and really bad. This week has been no different.

On the good note I’ve been interviewed by Sue at Blue-Box Studio, which you can read here; http://blue-box-studio.blogspot.com/ although why anyone wants to hear me waffling is still a mystery to me! Sue does lovely things with Sea-Glass, making it into wonderful jewellery, as well as working with textiles – I don’t know where she finds the time! I will have a feature on her here in the next few weeks.

On the bad note I am going to have to hold back on a new range of little worlds I’ve been working on. The glass is looking amazing, I’ve got new colours and ‘textures’ inside the glass, but the resin I was using to attach them to the silver hasn’t been curing to full strength on the smallest stud cups when the large ones are ok.

It’s so frustrating as it’s the only thing I make that uses any type of glue or resin. In the next few weeks I will be ‘field-testing’ an alternative ‘sticky stuff’ with lots of tugging to destruction, I may even ask for volunteers!

  1. Hey there! I'm with you on the extreme swinging from good to bad - isn't that just the way it is sometimes!

I enjoyed reading the inteview, and loved the pictures - are the little blue earrings that look like the earth the worlds you were referring to? They looked great!

  2. Hi, thank you, yes it's the little worlds, looks like i'm halfway to sorting it out, I've got some even better ones to come ;) I think I'm probably being paranoid as it's only a few that haven't stuck fully, but I want to get them right.

I'm glad it's not just me having one of those years, seems like everyone I speak to at the moment is having highs and lows at the same time!

  3. I adore those worlds but when are you going to be making whole galaxies? :)
They made me think of that galaxy pendant the cat wore in "Men in Black" very very coolio

  4. Glad you like!! That's exactly what my other half has been saying since I started making these too! I am playing with a couple of ideas/ways of doing that ;) although it is proving to be a little tricky so far. Watch this space ;)
